Using culture as a context to design, MAKA Collective delves into folk inspiration, everyday clothing and the concept of basic luxury – that everyone can own a piece of heritage.
An online presentation produced during the pandemic that launched a one-off collection to the local market. This was produced in collaboration with friends who gladly modeled for the show. Working with Inabel weavers and local artisans in Ilocos Norte, Philippines was a truly fulfilling time as a creative. Because of this collection, we had a successful partnership with Red Dot Collective, a homegrown retail company that specializes in local and international luxury fashion and lifestyle.
